Some of my most favorite USA experiences:

California Coast Road Trip

There’s no denying that California is downright beautiful, and with places like Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, and Santa Cruz at our doorstep (ok, so a bunch of hours away but still waaaay closer than living in NYC), we find ourselves frequenting the coast more than we imagined when we first moved here. The sunny CA weather certainly doesn’t hurt my year-round tan!  😎 We’ve also taken long weekends in Mendocino and Fort Bragg, Lassen Volcanic National Park, Carmel and Monterey, Big Sur, Russian River, Napa Valley, and Sacramento (sans Noah).

Roadtrippin’ Through Utah’s National Parks

Hiking to the Hoodoos in Bryce Canyon National Park |

One of our most epic road trips to date! We perused the state (and Arizona, too!) on a whirlwind tour of all 5 National Parks in just a week’s time, and encountered more crazy weather patterns than we ever thought possible! While most of our trip was thankfully blue skies and sunny, it also snowed, misted, and rained – all outta no where! Lots of driving time but most definitely worth it for all that Utah nature! Hoodoos, canyons, unbeatable sunsets, and lots of hiking!

All our time in Hawaii

Taking a HELICOPTER ride in Kauai >> an EPIC thing to do in Hawaii |

We first visited the land of sunshine, mai tais, sea turtles, and coconuts (my own personal rendition of Hawaii in a nutshell) a number of years back, and since moving to California, have made it our mission to visit at least once a year! We thoroughly LOVE these islands, and the state holds a place in our hearts. We’ve been to Maui, Kauai, and Oahu x 2 so far! Noah has even ran a marathon in Honolulu (he’s currently training for the Maui marathon 🙂 ) and we spent Jess’s 30th birthday jumping out of planes on Oahu!

→ A few days in Coastal Maine

Since we moved to California, I haven’t been able to see my parents as much as I used to (living on the opposite side of the country and all…) So this short trip to Portland, Maine was exactly what I longed for — a few days of family bonding time (missed ya Ali!). Doesn’t hurt that we ate lobster lunches everyday, stuffed our faces with blueberry everything, and admired the jagged coastlines together. 😀
